About Us
If The Collective succeeds over the next 5-10 years, the flow of climate, nature and other philanthropy will fundamentally change. More resources will support Indigenous sovereignty, wisdom and ways to sustain the earth.
A Different Way Forward
The Collective is designed to move long-term, unencumbered capital in solidarity with Indigenous communities. We strengthen Indigenous sovereignty, leadership, and self-determination—which supports durable outcomes for our natural world. We bring together Indigenous leaders who define the work and philanthropists prepared to act in solidarity. This is a purposeful shift of power where resources follow leadership, not direct it. Philanthropists enter as learners. Indigenous Peoples come as leaders, sharing a vision for a flourishing world rooted in ancestral knowledge. The work moves at the pace of trust.
What We're Building
The Collective mobilizes $100 million+ in values-aligned capital to demonstrate that large-scale funding can move in solidarity. We operate through three tracks: (1) strengthening Indigenous leadership and decision-making, (2) cultivating relationships among philanthropists and Indigenous leaders, building a sense of mutual accountability, and (3) creating operational capacity for capital to move flexibly at scale. Combined, these offer more direct capital to Indigenous communities, strengthen sovereignty, provide philanthropists a credible pathway to support Indigenous-led priorities, and demonstrate that large-scale capital can move in solidarity in ways that benefit us all.
